Information Assurance Technician/Engineer II

LOCATION

Middletown, RI

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Information Assurance Tech II/III in accordance DOD 8570.1M.
  • Submarine/Surface tactical/non-tactical LAN and/or Electronics Support System experience.
  • Patch management, systems/network management, auditing and monitoring.
  • Proficient in UNIX/Linux, Solaris, MS Windows, Virtual Machines and embedded processor networking environments.
  • Proficient in relational databases, e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with information systems/network engineers to assess the impact of Information Assurance requirements and validate/document the implementation of mandated Information Assurance controls. Generate Information Assurance test plans and procedures and execute Information Assurance vulnerability testing in mixed network environments. Generate and manage Information Assurance certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation. Information Assurance engineering in support of Submarine/Surface Combat Systems, Electronics Support Measures suites and relational database applications. Ability to identify conflicts between the need for systems functionality and Information Assurance requirements. Utilizes DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance, Security Readiness Review Scripts, and the implementation of network scanning tools, e.g.:

  • DoD Information Technology/DISA Security Checklists, and/or automated vulnerability identification tools, e.g. DISA Gold Disk; UNIX Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts
  • eEye Retina and equivalent network vulnerability scanners
  • Windows Assessment Security Program (WASP); [UNIX] Security Scan (SECSCAN)
  • NESSUS and penetration testing tools

Interface with clients and systems engineering personnel with limited, daily interaction with supervisor.

TRAVEL

Infrequent overnight travel may be required.

CLEARANCE

Active DoD Secret clearance required, active TS/SCI preferred.
