C, C++/JAVA/Application Developer

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
General knowledge of and experience in the following is a plus:
- BYG-1/Virginia Class Tactical Control System (TCS) or general submarine combat system knowledge. SWFTS/ForceNet experience.
- Hardware: Cisco switches, KVM components, Video matrix usage.
- Software: VMware products, Python
- Other Linux operating systems (Fedora, DSL)
- Backup/restore of system servers.
- Network Time Protocol (ntp)
- Installing/deploying security tools such as antivirus, anti-spyware.
- Maintenance of Linux security and “login” logs and password security.
- General TCP/IP networking.
BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- C++ and Java programming in Windows and Linux environments.
- Development of CORBA event channels and client/server interfaces for use in submarine combat systems.
- Linux scripting in support of combat system installation and integration.
- Installation/development of C++ and Java Software Developer’s Kits (SDK) for use by combat system lab users including compilers, debuggers, development environments, utilities, and sample code.
- Development of submarine combat system applications as web services using WSDL, SOAP, XML, and Message Oriented Middleware (e.g. JMS. ActiveMQ) for integration in a Service Oriented Architecture based Next Generation Combat System.
- Assist in the development of new submarine combat system tools and applications using evolving open source technologies.
- Work with customers and partners in a cooperative, friendly manner to ensure smooth integration of software into the combat system environment is paramount due to the diverse government and defense organizations involved.
CLEARANCE
- Must be able to obtain and hold a government secret security clearance.
